How to make your bed the cosiest place on earth...

I truly believe that a well-made bed sets the foundation for a great nights sleep, in turn ensuring a fruitful day ahead!

We're all hearing how important sleep is for us, but Healthline mentions that people are now sleeping less than they did in the past, with sleep quality on the decrease as well.

All the more reason to make the bed of dreams and get snuggled in!

Scroll on down to watch exactly how I create these gorgeous single beds, ready and waiting to help you catch some good quality shut-eye.

Firstly, we have our mattress protector. My mattress protectors of choice are quilted and waterproof. You can find similar here. They're a fabulous addition to any bed and give just that little extra comfort, last for a really long time, as well as the protection for your mattress.

Next up, we have the fitted sheet. Do make sure this is pulled super tight and secure underneath every corner.

Then we tackle the duvet. Top tip - use double duvets on single beds! It makes a world of difference - trust me!

Our duvets are white duck down and we adore these for so many reasons, they're super lightweight and just great for all year round.

Moving onto pillows. We use feather pillows for the same reasons as our lovely duvets, they're a joy to rest on and really do ensure a good comfortable night's sleep. Two pillowcases work best to further protect your pillows - the underslip opening should be at the same end as the final pillowcase to ensure no uncomfortable ruching!

Now for the good stuff. Everyone's favourite - the duvet cover!

The easiest, quickest and just plain most satisfying way is to do the following. Turn your duvet cover inside out and pop your hands into each top corner. Now grab your duvet, making sure the label at the bottom of the duvet is going to end up at the opening end. Then flip it around and get your shake on!

Pop the duvet flat onto the bed and tackle those fastenings.

The little finishing touches make all the difference - cosy, homely & inviting.

I love to pop a blanket onto the ends of each of the beds just to give them that extra something. Now step back and admire your work!

Do you have any bed making tips? I'd love to hear them!

Love, Charlie x
