How to make charming, quick and tasty canapes for easy entertaining!

Having a home full of friends and family over Christmas and New Year is so joyful and brings such a smile to my face.

I really enjoy entertaining and ensuring that everyone is having a great time!

Let me show you how to whip up some delicious canapés to keep your guests satisfied.

Ingredients:

8 slices of white bread

2 thin slices of beef fillet

2 tablespoons of cream cheese

1 tablespoon of creamed horseradish

Handful of rocket leaves

1 tablespoon of pomegranate seeds

Chicken liver parfait

Quince jelly

Dried cranberries

Cranberry sauce

Handful of Greek basil leaves

Method:

Using a small star pastry cutter, cut out stars in your bread to make the base of the canapés and place on a baking tray. Bake for 10 mins at about 160c until lightly toasted.

Melt a knob of butter in a frying pan on a high heat and cook the beef only turning once, just for a minute on each side or a little longer if you prefer it well done.

Once the beef is cooked cut it into bite size pieces.

In a small bowl mix the cream cheese and horseradish together with a spoon.

Spoon a little of the cream cheese/horseradish on to a star toast, top with a piece of beef, a rocket leaf top part only (stalk removed) then put a tiny bit of the cream cheese onto a pomegranate seed and place on the top (the cream cheese works as glue to stick the seed on top!).

Repeat with the 10 of the toasted stars.

Smear a little of the chicken liver parfait over a star toast, add a mini basil leaf, a little dollop of cranberry sauce and a dried cranberry on the top.

Repeat with another 10 stars.

Smear a little of the chicken liver parfait over a star toast and place a rocket leaf top part only (stalk removed).

Add a little quince jelly on the top and repeat with the remaining stars.

Canapés are best served fairly soon after making but there is time to change and get glammed up for your guests!

Enjoy! And a very Happy New Year from me to you.

Love,
