Something a little different... Recommending my current top ten Podcasts!
This week is something a little different! It’s not one of my how-tos, instead, I wanted to let you know all about the podcasts I’m loving at the moment.
I get so excited about a good Podcast! I see them as a treat - a chance for me to pop my earphones in and get really immersed in something, particularly whilst tackling something mundane like the washing, ironing or poo picking!
So, every time I head out to take care of a job that I don’t particularly like to do, I pop on a great podcast and get totally into whatever it is I’m listening to. Then before I know it, the job is done and my mind has been enriched!
So without further ado, let’s dive straight in!
How To Fail With Elizabeth Day
Elizabeth is a brilliant journalist and focuses on turning negatives into positives. She interviews different personalities and every episode is fascinating. A stand out episode for me was a recent one with Mo Gawdat, which I highly recommend you have a listen of if you can.
The High Low by Pandora Sykes and Dolly Alderton
This is lovely and lighthearted. Always fun, so varied and the two presenters are just great together!
Castaway with Laura Whitmore
Laura interviews people about their podcast recommendations - so it seems an odd thing for me to be recommending! But it actually is so interesting to hear the people she chats to, and is a lovely easy listen. The hour just slips by!
Grounded - Louis Theroux
Louis is just brilliant. He is so good at interviewing people, and he has this real knack of knowing exactly when to pause to let the person really think about the question and their response. He’s also extremely clever and completely hilarious at times!
Honestly with Clemmie Telford
Clemmie interviews some really interesting people on this podcast and I find the focus on honesty so inspiring and uplifting. I’m a huge believer in being honest and sharing your experiences to help others and yourself, so I do love to pop this podcast on regularly.
Pacific Rim College
An old school friend of mine was interviewed for this podcast and he shared the link with me - I have such happy memories of him at school and hearing about all of his accomplishments and listening to the amazing things he has achieved absolutely blew my mind - do go and give the episode featuring Dan Hayes a listen if you can!
This led me to listen to the other episodes, during which they cover really interesting topics such as health, food, body and mind. A super interesting one.
Feel Better Live More - Rangan Chatterjee
Rangan has got a really beautiful, calming voice that just puts you at ease immediately.
The podcast is all about feeling well, looking after yourself and just living your best life. He interviews some fascinating people, and leaves you with some real food for thought. I get something out of every single episode, himself and his incredible guests have really opened my eyes on different ways to look at things.
Give Me Strength - Alice Liveing
This podcast isn’t all about muscles! Alice and her guests focus on inner strength too. Alice interviews people who have found strength in many, many different ways - some overcoming accidents and tragedy - and how they have succeeded and thrived since unearthing this strength. I do often cry during this one!
Unlocking Us - Brene Brown
Brene is an amazing woman. She speaks to a huge variety of people about so many different topics. Some are quite deep so I do save this one for when I’m okay to stop for a moment and take it all in properly, otherwise I tend to find myself not being able to concentrate!
The Janet Murray Show
I’m quite new to this one but I’m really enjoying it so far. She is brilliant at marketing and business - each episode I’ve listened to so far has been so interesting!
I do listen to quite a few business-focused podcasts too that I’ve chosen to leave off of this list as I thought they may be too niche, but do let me know if you’d be interested to hear about them too? I’d be so happy to share!
