A little about me... My Ask Charlie 'lightbulb moment', why I do what I do and plans for the future!

I thought it had been a little while since I told you a little bit about me, why I started Ask Charlie and how I came up with the idea!

I’ve had a fair few new followers, subscribers and likes since my first blog post a couple of years ago explaining all about Ask Charlie so it’s time for an update!

So I’m Charlie, I’m married to Simon who is affectionately known on Instagram as Sigh! I have three children, Archie, Coco and Gus.

We live in West Sussex with lots of animals - ponies, dogs, chickens and a tortoise named Billy - there is never a dull moment in the Gray household!

So I came up with the idea of Ask Charlie just over 2 years ago. Various things happened in the run-up to its conception, but one day I just had what I call my ‘lightbulb moment’!

Many people have said to me over the years ‘You have so many practical skills, use them!’ and I was always being asked how to do this and how to do that - it’s always been a real delight for me to share knowledge and help people!

I was sat watching The Durrells, Louisa was teaching two Italian girls who had grown up with staff how to do practical things like fillet a fish and basic housekeeping..and then it came to me! Lightbulb moment!

I needed something that would fit in with family life and the various daily responsibilities that come with it, and this seemed the perfect path.

I absolutely adore helping, teaching people and building their confidence in all manner of practical life skills. I share tips and tricks to make your life easier, to hopefully take away some of the stress of the day and enjoy yourself whilst you’re at it!

I cover household, cooking, cleaning, animal care, children’s activities, gardening, lifestyle - you name it! I don’t want to come across as a know-it-all, but I do absolutely love learning and so if I don’t know something that I am asked, I will spend hours researching the best and most efficient way of getting it done, do trials and tests, reach out to experts and collaborators if need be and will always share the results with you.

My website is a library full of knowledge that I’ve shared over the past two years and I’m super active on Instagram too, so do come and check me out over there if you’ve not already!

I’m having such fun with Ask Charlie, and I have so many plans for the future. I’m going to be teaching more courses covering a wider variety of subjects, and holding more demonstrations for children too to get them involved and learning life skills from a young age!

I love seeing people getting so much out of Ask Charlie and sharing their results with me, the feedback from everybody has been great and I get more and more requests for blog posts every week!

I want to say a huge thank you to you for coming on this journey with me, there’s much more to learn and I’m so excited to continue to share it with you all!

I hope you have a lovely weekend, and as always if there’s anything you would like me to cover, comment below, use the contact form or get in touch via social media!

Love,
