My First Sourdough Talk, Exciting News & A Trip to Petworth (Plus A Very Special Piece Of Art)

This week’s vlog is full to the brim. Saturday was a big day—it was the South Downs Festival of Food and Fizz, where I gave my first ever talk on sourdough and workshops on how to make your very own starter. I’ve been making sourdough for years now, so it was really special to share my passion in person. Simon was on the stall selling Ask Charlie merchandise and was the most supportive sidekick all day, I have officially awarded him Employee Of The Month!

There’s more excitement too, as I’ve officially pressed ‘go’ on something new behind the scenes that I’ll share more about soon. It's an idea I’ve been sitting with for a long time, and I’ve finally taken the leap. It’s going to take a while to bring to life, but the wheels are now in motion, and I’ll be able to share more about it later this year. I know that’s a bit of a tease, but I’m really excited about it and can’t wait to tell you more when the time is right.

The puppies are doing brilliantly, now on three meals a day and really thriving. They’ve been such a happy distraction after losing our beloved Tess, who we miss every single day. Coco had a show jumping competition, Molly’s gone to Josh’s for bootcamp due to Coco being away, and I’ve been preparing for the Easter holidays by batch cooking and getting the house organised, so it's all been go, go, go.

I also enjoyed a lovely delivery from the wonderful Leigh Linton, including her new marine collagen and my go-to matcha, plus I shared a few gorgeous finds from Petworth and Slow Squirrel. And finally, something very touching—a beautiful portrait of Tess by Jocelyn Lawman that truly captured her spirit. It's a piece we will treasure, and I am so grateful to Jocelyn for enabling us to still look upon our dear Tess at home.
