How to make my moreish alcohol-free Mulled Wine!

This week I wanted to introduce you to another of the recipes from my trusty Ask Charlie Christmas Planner!

This recipe is for the designated drivers and the non-drinkers out there who still want to drink something utterly delicious this Christmas season and enjoy the warming taste of traditional Mulled Wine. Obviously it makes a great beverage for the children too!

The recipe in my planner calls for sugar and honey, but a few of you have asked if I can make it just a little more healthy. The one I share with you here uses agave in their place and tastes equally as good.

You will need:

175ml Belvoir Mulled Wine Punch

300ml freshly squeezed orange juice

1 litre of water

1 orange - sliced

1 lemon - sliced

1 cinnamon stick

2 x star anise

1/2 teaspoon of freshly ground nutmeg

Handful of cloves

1/2 teaspoon of ground ginger (you could use fresh here if you wanted)

2 tablespoons agave syrup

Method:

Pop everything into a large saucepan and give a good stir.

Leave to simmer on the hob very gently for around 15 minutes, to give the flavours time to infuse.

And it’s that simple! Strain into a punch bowl and enjoy!

What are your favourite drinks to enjoy at Christmas? I’d love to hear them so do comment below!
