How to host afternoon tea
This week I thought we’d host an afternoon tea!
Afternoon tea is something of a ritual over here in Britain, and I think it’s a really fun way to host friends and loved ones as an alternative to a more intense lunch or dinner.
For this week’s How-To, I’ll talk a little about the interesting history of the origin of our traditional Afternoon Tea, including its inception thanks to Anna Maria Russell, the seventh Duchess of Bedford.
I then walk you through the difference in tea service equipment, types of teas, the perfect ratio of elements, delicious accompaniments and of course how to serve to your guests.
I’m not the biggest tea drinker, but when I do partake my favourite tea is the Queen Anne blend from Fortnum & Mason - who have been selling tea for over 300 years and are experts in the Afternoon Tea world! It’s delicious and perfect for any time of day.
Join me as I pour the perfect cup, and do check out both my Picnic & Afternoon Tea products below, they’re chock full of yummy goodies perfect for the occasion.
Love, Charlie x
