Get your sinks sparkling! Let me introduce you to one of my very favourite cleaning products, Bar Keeper's Friend...
I love having a sparkling clean sink. It really does pay to regularly give your sink a good cleanse!
I’d like to start this week’s blog post by introducing you to my top products for this purpose:
Cif - Cif is brilliant. It is a fantastic everyday cleaner and does leave surfaces well cleansed. It also has that great fresh scent.
Bar Keepers Friend - now this is my wonder product. I really love this as a stain remover, it does an incredible job and really does work to lift stains and leave a great shine.
Bar Keeper’s Friend Power Cream - this is similar to Cif. Some supermarket’s carry these products, but I tend to purchase mine from hardware shops as they are easier to track down there.
Right, let's get going with the sink! For this blog post, I’ll be talking you through how I clean the sink using my trusty Bar Keeper’s Friend.
Start by popping your rubber gloves on to protect your hands.
Give the sink a good rinse to remove any bits of leftover food debris or the like.
Shake the powder straight from the bottle all over the sink. Give it a good coating - you don’t need lots but a good amount.
Dampen a sponge with a scouring side - squeeze out any excess water and we’re ready for a little scrub.
Work the dampened sponge around the sink, the scourer will work really well with the product doing a get job at getting the dirt off but not damaging the sink at the same time.
Pop a little more of the powder into any slightly more problematic areas and work it in.
Give the whole sink a rinse, then get going again with the sponge and any product leftover.
Do make sure you’re getting right into all of the corners, along with any seals you may have and right up and along the top.
Attack the plughole with a little more powder and get right in there with the scourer, you can add powder onto the sponge directly if you wish to be more specific! You can also use a toothbrush for this area to really get into the nooks and crannies.
Give the whole thing one final rinse, step back and admire your handiwork!
