Fun games, foraged decorations & yummy soups... all you need for a happy Halloween!
This week I’m talking all about Halloween!
The name 'Halloween' originated in Ireland and is the evening before the Christian holy day of All Hallows' Day (also known as All Saints' Day) on 1 November, thus giving the holiday on 31 October the full name of All Hallows' Eve.
It has become quite commercialised, but for me it is still a religious ceremony and festival during which you remember the dead. Lots of people go to graveyards or places of a loved one’s burial and say a prayer, light a candle and honour their memory.
For most however, this year will be spent at home. There won’t be any trick or treating, no knocking on doors and no bucketfuls of sweets! So with that in mind, I have created a downloadable sheet of Halloween games to entertain the family at home.
Autumn really is one of my favourite times for the year for so many reasons. It’s lovely to get stuck into carving pumpkins with the children, creating batches of warming pumpkin or butternut squash soup, foraging for goodies to decorate the home within the hedgerows - there really is an abundance of beauty all around us!
I hope you all enjoy the games and have a wonderful week.
Love,
